Pesach is a long holiday, and not every hour of it needs filling. On the upper floor of the Real Marina, a thousand square metres are given over to doing very little: a heated indoor pool with a bubbling water area, nine treatment rooms, a Vichy shower, a gym — and, through the windows, the lagoon changing colour as the day moves on. Book a massage, swim a few lengths before breakfast, or simply sit and watch the water.
The heart of the spa is its heated indoor pool, with a bubbling water area to sit in and let the jets do their work. The glazed wall runs the length of the hall, so you swim facing the Ria Formosa and the islands beyond it — a view that changes with the tide and the hour.
Nine treatment rooms and a specialised team stand behind a wide range of massages and hydrotherapy treatments — a method built on the properties of fresh water held at different temperatures, used for both relief and prevention. A Vichy shower completes the range, along with a gym for those who would rather keep moving.
